Family Counselling
Gather together as a family, and start talking more openly with in-person counselling in Guelph, ON.
We love our families. That’s why it can be so difficult sometimes when we can’t seem to navigate the interpersonal issues that come up. We see happy families in TV and movies all the time, and may be left wondering why can’t our family be like that?
It’s fair to say, real family relationships aren’t like what we see on TV. It can be difficult to foster the closeness and openness we desire - and a counsellor can help.
Sometimes feelings are deep and cause us to lash out at each other or struggle to find common ground leaving us to wonder what’s wrong with us or our families.
First off, there’s nothing wrong with you.
Secondly, there’s ways we can help. We hope to help your family with communication and improve the relationships between family members. Our therapists have many years of experience supporting families and strive to have every family member feeling heard and validated.
Why do families seek counselling and therapy?
How does family counselling help you?
A family counsellor can come in to provide an even playing field to ensure everyone’s desires, feelings, and concerns are heard and responded to. Your counsellor can help zoom out interpersonal conflicts away from intense feelings to give a higher view of underlying goals, values and desires.
Family counselling isn’t just a glorified family dinner conversation. Together, we will sit down and create frank and open conversations to find solutions to issues, or at the very least, ensure all people involved are understanding and listening to each other.
